Georgia has been one of my dream countries for a long time. Unfortunately, flights from Jakarta to Tbilisi are quite expensive. Therefore I chose to fly to Istanbul, Türkiye first then from Istanbul fly to Tbilisi. For flights from Istanbul to Tbilisi, unfortunately use Anadolujet, a subsidiary of Turksih Airlines. The cost is around USD 200 for round trip. However, unfortunately most of the flying hours from Anadolujet are midnight and we will arrive in Tbilisi around 1-2 in the morning. Actually, I only visited Georgia to visit Kazbegi, but after thinking about it, what would be the harm if I also explored the capital of Georgia? After exploring there were lots of interesting places that I could enjoy while in Tbilisi and in this article I will try to tell my friends about them.
1. Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi
Because when I arrived in Tbilisi it was 2 in the morning, I finally relaxed at the airport while enjoying warm Americano coffee. At that time the air was very cold and it was snowing too. I waited at the airport until 6 am because at that time I intended to take the bus to the city. After 7 o'clock I finally used the airport bus. To use the bus we can use a tap debit card, it's quite easy, just tap the machine on the bus, the cost is less than USD 1. However, what makes me dizzy is that there is no writing at each bus stop, and in the end I keep monitoring using Google Maps and stop at the bus stop closest to my hotel.
At that time I stayed at the Ibis Hotel Stadium Tbilisi. After arriving at the hotel, I was only able to check in around 1 pm. And at that time at 8 o'clock I arrived at the hotel. Because there was still a lot of time, I finally intended to visit one of the icons of the city of Tbilisi, namely the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The distance from the hotel to this place is about 4 km. It's quite far, but because the air was cold, I decided to walk and enjoy the city of Tbilisi. After about 1 hour of walking, I finally arrived at Holy Trinity Cathedral Tbilisi. This is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever visited.
